Life Of A New York Fashion Week DJ

My concept of being a busy New York City DJ during New York Fashion Week is an exciting and hectic experience. As the fashion industry’s biggest event of the year, Fashion Week draws in designers, models, celebrities, and fashion enthusiasts from all over the world, and as a DJ, you play a big role in setting the tone and atmosphere of the shows and events.

As a New York City DJ, the weeks leading up to Fashion Week can be a rush of meetings, phone calls, and last-minute preparations. There are countless events and shows happening all over the city, and as the DJ, you need to make sure you’ve got the right music, equipment, and contacts to make every fashion show run smoothly.

The Pace of NYC is fast, but once Fashion Week starts it warp-speed. We New York City DJs are already booked, but now you’re often juggling multiple events in one day, each with their own unique vibe and crowd. You might start the day with an intimate presentation for a up-and-coming designer, then move on to a high-energy after-party for a major fashion house, and finish the night with a private event or after-hours for a celebrity client.

Despite the fast pace and high stakes, being a busy New York City DJ during Fashion Week is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have as a DJ. The energy and excitement in the air is contagious, and the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in the fashion industry is an honor.

It’s not just about playing music, it’s about understanding the brand and the audience, and knowing how to create the right atmosphere for each event. It’s also important to stay up to date with the latest music and trends, and to be open to new and exciting sounds that can add a unique touch to your set.

After all DJing is a craft and an art that should be respected. Being entrusted with representing the brands of other master artists such as designers is a show of mutual respect. This is why our industries overlap and complement each other so nicely. A fashion show with no music sounds like a real snoozer.

During this hectic time in New York City I hope to be able to help you source the perfect for your fashion show. I love to DJ during Fashion Week, even though it is not for the faint of heart.  For us veterans, we are always up for the challenge, because we know it’s a chance to be part of one of the most exciting and dynamic events and industries in the city.

Lets build.
